What Is Decentralized Science?

The open science movement has existed for decades but has failed to gain meaningful traction due to a lack of incentive.

DeSci is an effort to provide the tooling, infrastructure, mechanism design, and incentive structure to enable open science using Web3. But not exclusively, some aspects of DeSci are unrelated to Open Science. There are many inventions contributed by scientists and researchers, however, the top parties tend to take the money-making inventions and do not support or fund other projects. Here DeSci world looks forward to healthy contributions to the harmony of nature and strives to raise healthy projects.

Why DeSci Is Important?

Academia has a huge money problem, too many studies are poorly designed, replicating results is crucial and rare, peer review is broken, too much science is locked behind paywalls, Science is poorly communicated, life as a young academic is incredibly stressful in the current system.

No worries about IP rights anymore, It will be on the blockchain, and hence no worries of theft and we can now peacefully share our work around. I am barely scratching the surface of what we can do with NFTs in the science world.

These are some of the communities you can find peers, a place to network, collaborate, well basically just chit-chat, and brainstorm, well anything that is not rude or offensive is welcome here. It creates a real-time in-person feel between community members and inspires collaborative conversations. Whenever possible, Chat is an email alternative. Chat works well in environments where there are good vibes. People get to contact and files can be shared easily with like-minded people.
